Sugaring FAQ
What is Sugaring?

-
Sugaring is a method of hair removal that uses an organic paste made of sugar, water & lemon. At Skintuition, we do strip sugaring, which means we apply the wax with sticks and remove it with strips, similar to waxing.

Does Sugaring hurt?

-
Sugaring can be uncomfortable like waxing, since it is removing hair from the root. But once you have it done a few times, it is not that bad!

How do I prepare for my Sugaring?

-
Do not shave or tweeze for a minimum of 2 weeks to ensure that the hair is long enough for the sugar to grip.
-
Use an exfoliating mitt or loofah before your sugaring appointment.
-
Moisturize the area to be sugared. A light moisturizer is best. Having well hydrated skin will help minimize any post waxing irritation
-
Do not use any contraindicated skin care products like alpha hydroxy acid products or trentinoin products, such as retin-a and renova in the area to be sugared for 4-7 days prior. People using Accutane are not candidates for sugaring.

Can I get sugaring when I am preganant?

-
We always recommend asking your physician before booking an appointment with us to confirm what they think is appropriate for you. But, we are able to modify most of our services to be able to accommodate pregnant women

How long does sugaring last?

-
The hair that was removed will slowly start growing back around 2-2.5 weeks after sugaring, and will be fully grown back in and ready to sugar again in 4-6 weeks.

How often should I sugar?

-
We recommend regular sugaring every 4-6 weeks without shaving between appointments at all.
