Eyebrow Microblading

Eyebrow Microblading, also called Eyebrow Micropigmentation, 3D Brows, HD Brows, Eyebrow Embroidery, or Eyebrow Feathering, is a technique used to partially or fully fill in missing eyebrow hairs. Your Eyebrow Microblading Technician will skillfully deposit pigment in hairlike strokes just below the epidermis to mimic the appearance of real hairs. The result is a very natural looking, semi-permanent solution for sparse and thinning eyebrows. It is also a great solution for people who would like to create eyebrow symmetry, correct uneven eyebrows, or to create more bold eyebrows. The results typically lasts 1-3 years, with suggested Color Boost Sessions once every 12-18 months to maintain the best results. Natural fading in shape and color is to be expected in that time frame, and will vary from person to person depending on a number of things such as skin type, age, lifestyle, etc. We use a high-quality topical numbing agent to decrease any pain or discomfort that you may feel which will help to tolerate the procedure.  As a precaution, we do not perform Eyebrow Microblading on pregnant or nursing women. Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least ONE YEAR before having this procedure.

As for color, we use specialty pigments that stay true to color and can accommodate a range of skin tones and hair colors to ensure a match for each individual. Shape, size, color, and style of the area being treated is different for everyone and is consulted with each client before starting the session.

Everyone retains pigment differently and not everyone heals the same. This is why we encourage you to follow after care instructions carefully. Aftercare is the most important part! Be sure to protect the area with an SPF and avoid chemical or exfoliate agents.

What should I do before my micropigmentation procedure?

The first step is to set up a consultation. We will explain the process to you, go over shape and color, and make sure that you are a good candidate for the procedure.

The consultation is complimentary. If you decide to book your eyebrow Microblading appointment, we will require a $100 Non-Refundable deposit. Your deposit will be applied to the total cost of your Microblading procedure. We require a 24 hour notice for cancellations, and you can use your $100 deposit when you reschedule your appointment as long as it is a 24 hour notice.

If you regularly get your eyebrows, waxed, tweezed, or threaded, please do so at least 3 days before your Microblading appointment.

If you have an ideal look in mind for your eyebrows, feel free to bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. We would love to be able to see what your eyebrow goals are!

Come to your appointment with your eyebrows filled in the way that you like them, so we get an idea of how you like to wear your brows on a daily basis.

We recommend to do your Eyebrow Microblading procedure a minimum of 14 days before a big event or vacation.

Avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. This will create more bleeding and makes its difficult to do the service, and could affect results.

Skin treatments such as Retin-A that thin the skin in the procedure area must be discontinued for at least 30 days prior to procedure. Check with dermatologist about specific medications.

Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and please limit the amount of caffeine you consume.

If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least ONE YEAR before considering this procedure.

It is highly recommended that you avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 2 weeks before the procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a tan or sunburn, it will take the pigment with it, and could affect the results. It is also necessary that you avoid sun and tanning beds for 30 days after your procedure to avoid fading, and allow for proper healing.

Be prepared for the color intensity of your procedure to be significantly larger, sharper, or darker for the first few days to a week following your procedure. It will take time for this transition, and for you to really see the final outcome.

Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may swell slightly or redden, some clients feel it best not to make any social plans for the day of procedure.

How to care for your Eyebrows after Microblading:

Avoid water on the area for 3-5 days for pigment to attached to skin. After that time frame, we recommend washing the tattooed area GENTLY 1-2 times a day with lukewarm water and something disposable so you don't cross contaminate the area. Pat it dry and keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Do not apply any cosmetics in this area for AT LEAST 2 weeks. Just keep the area clean and let it breathe! Apply a small amount of Aquaphor or Coconut Oil 1-2 times a day.

Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit sore afterwards, but there should be minimal discomfort. During the initial healing period, there will be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, DO NOT PICK. Allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

The complete healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true color.

You may shower or bathe normally, but avoid getting any soaps, shampoos or other cleansers on the treated area for the first 3-5 days as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilize in the dermis.

DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.

DO NOT use Vaseline or Neosporin while healing.

DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for 3wks following the procedure.

DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or lightening creams (skin bleaching creams) such as hydroquinone to the treated area while healing.

DO NOT apply any anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids to the treated area while healing

Do not thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area while healing.

NO exercising and/or sweating for the first couple days after getting tattooed. Sweat will sting freshly tattooed area.

NO swimming pools, jacuzzis or other bodies of water for two weeks.

Do not soak your face underwater in a bathtub or allow the shower to spray directly in your face for two weeks.

Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. .

Glycolic acid, Retin-A, Renova, microdermabrasion, and chemical face peel products used over the eyebrows may lighten the pigment, so avoid using directly over the Microbladed area. . If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area, and it is recommended to avoid lasers over the Microbladed area.

Aftercare is very important! It is highly recommended that you follow all of the above guidelines for best results. If you do not take care of your Eyebrow Microblading, your will affect the final outcome.
